In a small village, there lived a boy named Arnav. He was a playful child but had a bad habit of lying about small things. His parents often warned him, "Telling lies is wrong. Always speak the truth." But Arnav didn’t listen.
One day, while playing near the fields, Arnav decided to play a prank. He shouted, “A tiger is here! A tiger is here!”
Hearing his cries, the villagers came running with sticks to help him. But when they arrived, they saw no tiger. They asked Arnav, “Why did you lie?” Arnav laughed and said, “I was just joking!”
A few days later, a tiger actually came near the village. Arnav saw the tiger and was terrified. He shouted, “A tiger is here! Please help me!”
But this time, the villagers thought he was lying again, so no one came to help.
The tiger attacked Arnav’s sheep and ran away. Arnav was heartbroken and realized the consequences of his lies. He promised himself never to lie again.
Moral of the Story:
This story teaches us the importance of truth. Lying might seem harmless at first, but it can destroy trust. Once trust is broken, it is very hard to rebuild.
Bengali Version
এক গ্রামে অর্ণব নামে এক ছেলে বাস করত। অর্ণব খুব চঞ্চল ছিল এবং প্রায়ই ছোট ছোট মিথ্যে কথা বলত। তার বাবা-মা তাকে অনেকবার সতর্ক করেছিলেন যে মিথ্যে বলা খারাপ অভ্যাস, কিন্তু সে তা মানত না।
একদিন অর্ণব খেলার ছলে গিয়ে চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগল, "বাঘ এসেছে! বাঘ এসেছে!"
গ্রামের লোকেরা দৌড়ে এসে দেখল, সেখানে কোনো বাঘ নেই। তারা অর্ণবকে জিজ্ঞেস করল, "তুমি মিথ্যে বললে কেন?" অর্ণব হাসতে হাসতে বলল, "আমি তো মজা করছিলাম।"
কিন্তু কিছুদিন পরে সত্যিই একদিন গ্রামের কাছে একটি বাঘ ঢুকে পড়ল। অর্ণব ভয়ে চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগল, "বাঘ এসেছে! বাঁচাও!"
এইবার গ্রামবাসীরা ভাবল, এটা হয়তো আবার মিথ্যে। তাই তারা সাহায্য করতে এল না।
বাঘটি অর্ণবের ভেড়াগুলো নিয়ে পালিয়ে গেল। তখন অর্ণব বুঝল যে মিথ্যে কথা বলার ফল কতটা ভয়ানক হতে পারে। সে তার ভুল বুঝতে পারল এবং প্রতিজ্ঞা করল যে সে আর কখনো মিথ্যে বলবে না।
মূল্যবোধ:
এই গল্পটি আমাদের শেখায় যে সত্য কথা বলা খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। মিথ্যে বললে মানুষের বিশ্বাস হারিয়ে যায়। আর একবার বিশ্বাস চলে গেলে, তা আবার ফিরে পাওয়া খুব কঠিন।
